Nationalized Banks At a Glance

Nationalized banks have always contributed to boost up the economy of India and available in a large number.

Note: I was being asked about the bank's Emblem also in my interview. So take a close look at the emblem of each banks too

In India Nationalized banks have great dominance over private banks as it has fully authority to look after the function and policy of private banks. Imperial Bank was the first banks that was nationalized in 1955 and became famous as State Bank of India.
After that many banks got the certification of nationalized bank . Some famous banks example are listed bellow.

Bank of Maharashtra	1935	1969	It has achieved 100% core banking solution of all its over 1510 branches
Allahabad Bank	1865	1969	It is acknowledged as the oldest nationalized Bank. In 1989 United Industrial Bank Ltd merged with it.
Bank of Baroda(BoB)	1908	1969	Founded by Maharaji Sayajirao Geakwad is the 3rd large bank after SBI and PNB
Corporation Bank	1906	1980	Changed Its name from Canara Banking Corporation Ltd to Corporation Bank in 1972
Vijaya Bank	1931	1980	Founded by AB Shetty become a scheduled bank in 1958.
Oriental Bank Of Commerce (OBC)	1943	1980	Established by the Thapar Family one of the aggrassive smaller banks with good track record
Andhra Bank	1923	1980	One of the First bank to start credit card business in the country
Punjab & Sind Bank (PSB)	1908	1980	Considered as one of the weak banks ; last among the nationalized banks to issue its shares to public.
