Union Minister Milind Deora has said a lot would have been different for the UPA government and the Congress party if Rahul Gandhi had got into government five years back.A lot would be different for Rahul also in terms of him being able to say that he has experience, the Minister of State for Communications and IT said. “What I would have really liked is if Rahul Gandhi got involved in a government a long time ago, like me and like a lot of my other colleagues. I think if he got into government like five yeas ago, when we came back into power in 2009, a lot would be different for our government. “A lot would be different for our party. A lot would be different for Rahul also, perhaps, in terms of being able to say he has experience,” he told NDTV.However, he said there was no point talking about what happened in hindsight and the bottom line is that Gandhi chose not be in government.

Rebekah Brooks tells court she did not know phone hacking was illegal:
The former chief executive officer of News International Rebekah Brooks told UK court on Tuesday that she “did not know phone hacking was illegal”. Brooks (45) has been on trial since October along with six others including Prime Minister David Cameron’s former spin doctor Andy Coulson over phone hacking of celebrities and victims of crime. Brooks told jurors that she wasn’t asked to sanction hacking into voicemail messages. But she admitted that she would have given it a go ahead if it was in the public interest such as exposing a paedophile.

Nigerian Islamists kill 59 pupils in boarding school attack:
Gunmen from Islamist group Boko Haram shot or burned to death 59 pupils in a boarding school in northeast Nigeria overnight, a hospital official and security forces said on Tuesday. “Some of the students’ bodies were burned to ashes,” Police commissioner Sanusi Rufai said of the attack on the Federal Government college of Buni Yadi, a secondary school in Yobe state, near the state’s capital city of Damaturu. Bala Ajiya, an official at the Specialist Hospital Damaturu, told Reuters by phone the death toll had risen to 59.
